The new Italian government came into force, and already are discussing the first steps. They discuss the various measures on security, economy, and the case of "waste" in Campania. But this is not that I want to talk. On the sidelines of the first Council of Ministers held in Naples, the Minister for Economic Development, Claudio Scajola , announced that " within 5 years we will place the first stone for the construction in our country of a group of new-generation nuclear power plants, that will enable us to produce energy on a large scale, secure, cost competitive and environmentally . Obviously, the statements by the Minister have sparked a debate between those in favor and those opposed to nuclear power, between those who say they use alternative energy sources, and among those who asked to switch off from supplying countries. I personally am in favor, for two main reasons. Managing to obtain energy independence, without being under the blackmail and the whims of producer countries (in addition to bills less salty) I consider a very important reason for a modern country. And what's more, if you talk about security issues, I say that modern plants are very safe, plus we have a French nuclear power plant near the Italian border. To say, we pay and risk.
